Supply chains are ensured via shipping on large cargo vessels . Vanguardia's location as a European outpost in the Atlantic has always fostered the development of this sector, as supplying its own archipelago with imported goods from Europe and the rest of the world was of paramount importance, and only the export of its own manufactured goods could, and still can, lead to growth and prosperity.

Starting from the ports in the north and east, each with its own shipyards, merchant families of the Guardiate specialized primarily in outfitting, manning, maintaining, and operating their own or other people's ships—and later, in chartering them as well. Their connections with the ports of England, France, the Netherlands, Spain, and later also in the Americas, led to early success. For example, the three merchant families Gouffran, Herniel, and Santhaniel had established regular shipping lines in the western Atlantic as early as 1515. Protected by the Grand Master's fleet, they were able to develop their businesses extremely well despite piracy and privateering. They were also referred to as the Western Hanseatic League , which, unlike the Hanseatic Leagues of the North and Baltic Seas, always cooperated with the Teutonic Knights and thus flourished.
Today, the Vanguardian Shipping Corporation (VSC), with approximately 100 bulk and heavy-lift freighters, container ships, multi-purpose vessels, heavy lifters, and research vessels from Marechal, and the Prèsenet -American Steamship Company (PASS), with its approximately 90 ships, are present on the world's oceans under the Vanguardian flag. Both employ around 15,000 people and have a turnover of 10 billion Loudors each.
