Cherminster, the forbidden island

Not far from Gamerou Island, off its northeast coast, the picturesque island of Cherminster rises from the waters of the English Channel. Barely 2 km wide and only 7.5 km long, this island has become a place of fate for many people ravaged by plagues and diseases. Since the first plague epidemics of the Middle Ages, and later also in cases of leprosy, schizophrenia, and even "Effzebayernitis" (a derogatory term for a type of illness), Cherminster was used to abandon the sick. Without hope of recovery or return, one can easily imagine a truly gruesome body-count splatter movie that must have taken place here back then.

The Grand Master declared the island a "forbidden" island due to proven cannibalism, thereby shirking all responsibility. No releases were made after 1875. Around 50 years later, the Grand Master touted the island as a seaside resort, but the tourists never came. Today, in keeping with tradition, Cherminster is still used to film zombie horror movies, such as the German version of "Das Traumschiff" (The Dream Ship), featuring aging C-list celebrities.
