Import of goods
Virtually anything can be imported, as long as it causes harm. However, sometimes goods are brought into Vanguardia in such large quantities that purely private use seems questionable. Therefore, the following guideline quantities have been established for excise goods such as tobacco, coffee, and alcohol, up to which private use is assumed. Drugs of all kinds are strictly prohibited.
Tobacco products: Cigarettes 800 pieces or Cigarillos 400 pieces or Cigars 200 pieces or Smoking tobacco 1 kilogram or Tobacco substitutes 1 liter
Alcoholic beverages: 2 liters per person (with mouth closed), max. 38% ABV
Coffee, tea: max. 1,000 g per person
Export of goods
The regulations of the European Union also apply to exports. This means you can bring goods intended for personal use from Vanguardia – excluding the Antarctic special territories – to Germany duty-free and without customs formalities. Please note that historical artifacts may not be exported. This includes, for example, stones from the beach or scraps of any kind :-)
