Grand Master's Regiment

Cassillas II Regiment

His Excellency the Grand Master Dr. Vincent Cassillas appointed his government - his regiment - with five High Secretaries in June 2017 following his 2nd High Order in the High Assembly .

He has placed his regime under a remarkably bold guiding principle: "In 10 years, we should be better off everywhere than the EU average." This is a deliberately pro-European line, opposed to the UK's exit from the EU, which aims to make Vanguardia a net contributor again, something that seemed utopically distant during the crisis at the beginning of the millennium. He bases this on societal prosperity, strong economic performance, and progress in environmental and climate protection. At the same time, he intends to pursue a strong foreign policy and is pushing ahead with various efforts to position Vanguardia as a local, maritime power capable of pursuing its own economic and social interests in coordination with the EU and NATO.

High Secretaries

He skillfully assembled his 5 High Secretaries from different voting houses in order to ensure a cross-departmental consensus on reforms to health and education policy and the expansion of technological leadership in green environmental technologies.

His Excellency, the Grand Master Dr. Vincent Cassillas

and the High Secretariat for Justice. On St. Nicholas Day 2021, Dr. Cassillas began his second term as Prosecutor. Born in Pontaven, Cassillas earned his doctorate in canon law, among other subjects, in Prèsenet and subsequently took up his first post as a prosecutor in the province of Camp de Sault. He is married to Mireille Cassillas, a banker, with whom he has three children. As early as 1985, he became involved with the Loyalists and Temple-affiliated Unionists. He also gained national recognition as a long-distance runner when he won gold in cross-country running for Vanguardien at the 1992 Olympic Games in Barcelona. From 2000 onward, he served as spokesperson for the Juridical Society and subsequently helped draft constitutional amendments. He also oversaw the translation of the Malets, which were previously written in Latin, into their current multilingual texts, available in all national languages. In 2009 he became Chief of Staff to the Marshal and four years later Marshal himself in the regiment from 2013 to 2017. His convincing conduct in European foreign policy during this time paved the way for his appointment in June 2017 as Grand Master of Vanguardia with the 1st Regiment until November 2021.

Marshal: Bridger Vandermeulen

High Secretariat for Foreign Affairs, Europe and Defence

Since December 6, 2021, Bridger Vermeulen, LL.M., has been a Marshal and thus a High Secretary of the Grand Mastership of Vanguardien. He was born on June 20, 1969, in Bern, the son of the Vanguardien ambassador to Switzerland. From 1989 to 1994, he studied law at the University of Rosfleur and the Université Paris II Panthéon-Assas. He subsequently completed a degree in European law at the Collège d'Europe in Bruges.

Bridger Vermeulen joined the diplomatic service in 1997. He completed his training at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs with the European Union in Brussels, Austria, and Canada. From December 2005, he served as press spokesman and headed the staff unit for strategic foreign policy planning and defense policy issues. In June 2016, he was first appointed Foreign Minister of the 1st Regiment under Vincent Cassillas. Simultaneously, he was entrusted with the EU, arts, culture, and media affairs. During Cassillas' second term, he remained High Secretary for Foreign Affairs, second in command to the Grand Master, and is currently his deputy.

Spittler: Anne Catherine Delasecqs

Anne Catherine Delasecqs (born 1975 in Ponthermiel), nicknamed ACDC, High Secretariat for Social Affairs, Labor, Education, and Civil Protection, worked as a social worker in Marechal after finishing school. There, she rose through the ranks of the M+ union at the Chantiers de AMV shipyards to become an influential union leader. Her focus on the training of young people in the maritime industry is a significant factor in the region's current global market position, based on innovation, which she significantly contributed to between 1990 and 2009. Her numerous new ideas, proposals, and initiatives within the Socialist Party ultimately led to her election to the High Council in 2009, where she represented the parish of her long-time hometown of Marechal. She entered the High Secretariat as a hospitaller with the 2nd Regiment of Grand Master Dr. Vincent Cassillas. Ms. Delasecqs is married, has one daughter, and speaks fluent Guardian, Atlantic, English, and Spanish.

Trappier: Theodore Faubourg

High Secretariat for Economy, Environment, Technology, and Construction. The agricultural engineer was born in Gran Creus in 1970 and grew up on a vineyard near Estellers on the south coast. He studied viticulture and mechanical engineering there before joining the Cooperativau Vinogbles de Vanguardie, where he became the internationally respected and hard-drinking president in 1998. As a member of the Green & Naturist House of Representatives, he distinguished himself with radical demands for climate and environmental protection. These were gradually implemented from 2009 onwards as his Green-Blue Agenda, through legislation on electromobility, animal welfare, and especially organic farming. Some of these have also found their way into similar regulations and laws at the European level since Vanguardie's EU presidency. Since 2017, he has served as the High Secretary for Economy, Environment, and Technology. Theodore Faubourg is married to the actress Emma Thomsen. Both have two children and enjoy sailing off the south coast or in the Florensee on their sailing yacht "Verte est blau".

Tressler: Prof. Dr. Fredericq Descoules

High Secretariat for Finance. Born in 1962, Professor Dr. Fredericq Clement Descoules de Buonventure, to use his full aristocratic name, is currently the oldest High Secretary in the reign of Cassillas II. He was born in Montbau, studied economics and international law in Rosfleur and Geneva, and subsequently worked for many years at the International Red Cross. In 1999, he returned to Vanguardien and took over the management of the Grand Master's Social Service, Servis Sociau de Maitrecq, for the renewal of elderly care, childcare, and sea rescue as one of the three public services. In 2004, he was appointed Professor of Finance and Controlling at the Academy of the Poltau FR Mauvets Institute in Prèsenet . From 2009, he served as spokesperson in the Guardier Freedom Party's House of Representatives and, under High Secretary Lucq Faulhonet, oversaw the reorganization of the social services, including the controversial transfer of the twelve-member Loudor (a type of government fund). In the Cassillas I Regiment, he became Grand Master Treasurer and has quietly and steadily led this office ever since. He is a passionate sailor and has been divorced since 2009.

Commander: Marcq de Fairbrexes

High Secretariat for Religious Orders, Gendarmerie, Culture and Sport. Marcq de Fairbrexes was born in Montreal, Canada, in 1964, the son of a rock musician and a tour groupie. By a later, fortunate turn of events, he was left behind by these two at a Catholic orphanage in Rosfleur and raised there according to the statutes of the Sisters of Notre-Dame-de-Ste-Camille. After studying Atlantic Cultural Studies in Benisants, he became treasurer of the local parish, played soccer as a goalkeeper, and earned his first money as a gas station attendant. In 2004, he performed at the Atlantic Citizens' Voting House in Bethany, initially as a singer, then as a moderator, and finally as a comedian throughout the country. His highly communicative talent was fostered by the then-Tressler, Dominicq Joliet, so that in 2001 Fairbrexes was elected as an envoy to the High Council in the parish of Verdaguer, where he subsequently led the discussion groups at the Voting House. During the 2009 election campaign, he supported Sébastien Lemerrien in his bid to become Grand Master. In return, he was appointed Councilor for Communication in Lemerrien's regiment, essentially serving as the government's spokesperson. Since 2021, he has moved from the microphone and stage to the government bench as Commander, where he has since managed the internal affairs of the Grand Mastership with great passion and skill. In 2018, there was speculation that he was the twin brother of Peter Gabriel (Genesis). Marcq de Fairbrexes is unmarried and has a colorful house, a monkey, and a horse.
