Climate protection and biodiversity

Vanguardia boasts a high level of biodiversity thanks to its diverse climate zones. Its location, isolated by the sea, has fostered the development of endemic (native to this region) plant and animal species. The WWF Vanguardia is one of the 23 most important ecoregions on Earth. The IUCN has designated it a global center of plant diversity , and BirdLife International has identified it as an endemic bird habitat, as not all migratory birds follow their migration routes and some prefer to nest between Prinzensee and Keltischer See. The high biodiversity here, as elsewhere, is not only threatened by species extinction, but is already a sad reality.
Following the Paris World Climate Conference, the High Secretary for Environment, Flora and Fauna , Theodore Faubourg , in a fit of sarcastic laughter, decreed what are probably the strictest climate protection measures in the EU for Vanguardia.

Particular importance is attached to coastal protection in the low-lying coastal regions. Significant plans for dikes and flood barriers have been implemented here. Furthermore, each parish has been tasked with protecting harbors, rivers, dikes, and dunes with suitable flood control structures and developing emergency plans, including complete evacuation.

Particularly noteworthy are the approximately one hundred Sinot Nature floating rescue arks, designed to accommodate up to 250 people and their animals. These arks have been proudly presented in media outlets worldwide and, once the required quantities are completed by 2023, will be permitted for international export.
